Barratt Homes Unlocks i-Roof Benefits in Berkshire

A little over 10 miles South East of Reading sits the small village of Finchampstead, which has a population of around 12,000 residents. A village rich in Royal history, Finchampstead is an idyllic location for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

With plenty of scenic walks and sleepy country pubs to be explored, Finchampstead has plenty of things to see and do for its residents.

Within the village, Barratt Homes are developing Finchwood Park, a new community of three and four bedroom homes, boasting over 140 acres of green open space with plans in place to bring a new primary school and allotments to the area.

With easy access to major motorways and direct transport links into Central London, Finchwood Park is ideally situated for commuters and growing families.

Using our solution

Within the new development sits Plot 116, a four-bedroom, two bathroom detached home which makes use of our i-Roof room-in-roof solution. By specifying i-Roof, Plot 116 offers a spacious main bedroom in the roof space with an en suite and dressing area.

Barratt Homes felt all the benefits of off-site manufacturing by choosing Roofspace Solutions

Barratt Homes received i-Roof, complete with all dormer windows, front and back fascia and soffit, a GRP Dormer and a rooflight window, all while feeling the full benefit of off-site manufacturing.

The Finchwood Park project was a straightforward installation, made easier by the seamless collaboration between Roofspace Solutions’ design team and Barratt Homes. Just a few days before the installation was due to take place, the Roofspace Solutions team spotted a mistake in the approval drawings. However, with the help of the Barratt Homes’ technical department, any potential delays were quashed, the mistake was quickly rectified and the product was delivered on-time and without issue.

Opting for off-site

Our i-Roof is manufactured in our dedicated Warwickshire factory, where our expert team cut each i-Roof panel to the exact size specified in the design, before transporting it to site to be assembled by crane.

Not only does this save valuable time, as i-Roof can be installed in just one day, but it also reduces the number of on-site team required, while increasing site safety as less time is spent working from height.

By selecting Roofspace Solutions for this project, Barratt Homes can be assured that the product they are receiving is fully compliant to all building regulations, including the recently uplifted Part L: Conservation of Fuel and Power and Part F: Ventilation standards in preparation for the Future Homes Standard 2025.
