Plotting Future Homes in Chesterfield

We supplied our i-Roof product to 15 plots in a new development in Clay Cross, Chesterfield.

Clay Cross is a former industrial and mining town close to major roadways, making it an ideal place for commuters into Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham to settle.

The development was created by a leading UK housebuilder, who have a record of delivering quality homes, focusing on revitalising brownfield sites. Alongside their partners, they transform these sites into vibrant new communities.

As part of the development, Citra Living, who are part of Lloyds Banking Group, has launched a trial of Rent to Buy homes. As part of their ‘Pathways’ programme, Citra Living has purchased 68 homes to help homeowners who may struggle to purchase a property due to the large deposit required, and allows them to rent until they are ready to buy.

Design and deliver

In total, we provided our i-Roof room-in-roof solution to 15 plots on the development, which included the supply and installation of the dormers, windows and plastics.

At the helm of the design process was our Designer Bartosz Rodny, who worked alongside the customer’s technical department to ensure the drawings met their requirements.

Even though the original house type drawings were provided by the customer, Bartosz amended them to ensure i-Roof could be accommodated. When their technical department wanted to change the colour of the fascia and soffit on the front eaves, which overhangs the exterior walls of the building, Bartosz further amended the drawings to incorporate the change.

Thanks to Bartosz’s meticulous detail, the customer approved the first draft of the drawings, so the i-Roof installation moved to site without delays.

As i-Roof is constructed off-site and delivered to site in panelised form to be installed using cranes, each plot was able to be installed in just one day.

i-Roof

Our i-Roof provides a room-in-roof solution for 2.5-storey homes, offering additional valuable living space.

Installation of i-Roof is quick and easy. It’s constructed off-site in our specialised factory, which reduces risk to your employees while increasing building efficiency. We can easily integrate i-Roof into your existing house types, as we have done at this development.

i-Roof reduces lead times as it’s constructed off-site – we can deliver and install a pair of them in just one day. Each i-Roof is rigorously quality checked before leaving our factory, so you can be assured that it will arrive at your site to the exact specifications outlined in the designs.

With less time spent working at heights, the fatality risk of falling from height is greatly reduced. Working with off-site elements also increases safety as roofs are craned into place rather than installed by hand.

i-Roof can also seamlessly integrate with i-House to provide a complete housing solution to developments big or small.

It’s always great to see more developers using i-Roof, as it offers a great deal of benefits to their projects. I enjoyed implementing i-Roof into this development, and I look forward to hopefully working with them again in the future.”
